Only yesterday the Sydney club of the ABC are still getting fanatical in finding only the facts that suit a particular party view of what we need to know and believe.  

 Half the news was about extreme weather events 

 ABC news from Sydney tonight featured  

--Photos of people swimming, and saying without  quoting exactly how  " hundreds of people have died during the current heat wave in Europe", If our servants for truth want to retain their jobs  they must quote a scientific specialist in such reports. 

The parliament must for the sake of our people and children insist in review and sackings within the ABC. 

-- The report on the recent filling of Lake Eyre is just a totally inadequate justification for the headline of " extreme weather "

If you want a more objective and up to date view of what is worrying people, just go ask some outsiders.

Bjorn Lomborg got a whole screed written against him in Scientific American in 2001, The Ministry of Science in Denmark took a little while to say the denigration of his work on climate change was unwarranted. 

Our ABC now holds the record for time spent cancelling capable Earth scientists who dare to disagree with the popular political threat they said was clear at the time; that threat ( keeps changing but now presumed to be loosely called extreme weather etc ) that still has no known proofs , let alone any action agendas that work .

All earth scientists accept there has been warming but many have never accepted that [CO2] is the evil force that it has been made out to be, 

( AFAIK In 16 years, the ABC have never sought a review of Ian Plimers work )  Took the ABC  ten years to realize that unlike those of us who read a few chapters of Bruce Pascoes " Dark Emu ' that its conclusions did not warrant scientific review. 
Feel free to tell me what is wrong with my last sentence in the previous paragraph 

Bjorn said in a recent post , which reflects on work he actually published over 10 years ago , saying the same thing. 

"Public climate concern is shifting, as we see in many separate instances, such as California’s recent primary, New York’s retreat from its own climate law, global polling, and institutional‑investor surveys. The public now worries much more about affordability, governance, and security."

 

The ABC will go down in history as a group of failed science class members who then failed to teach science

Don't get me wrong. There are some areas of reporting in the ABC where  they have been doing an OK job  ( eg some areas of medicine and health science )  but the respect for sound full science reporting is now rare and even the good studies of health reporting are not helping in the maelstrom of simplified nonsense that the club have agreed to over the last 40 years in particular .





Thanks in part to neglected reporting by the ABC , the profession of ecological economists ( the new progressive edge of resilience science  EE's ) who work with the real resource issues, is now defunct .

In labelling the green side of politics the good side, the ABC have become too political and lost their independence there. 
Compare that with medical profession which is still in a strong position to defend its territory.  Many competent health care professionals struggled through the political takeover of COVID risk by politics and  must regret, like we do,  that proper discussion of interference medicine and health care  ( edgy science stuff that  needs testing )  is increasingly difficult, very draining ( defence of our profession is   not what most of us want to do )  and sometimes just impossible - we go silent and go back to work

.Hijacking of science agendas is not new and was the sort of concrete danger and threat that Whitehead and Ellul anticipated over 100 years ago; few know ; Our ABC has never pointed to that danger 
There are now many silent and silence competency associations who the ABC don't even know about. Let's call them the "zipped "club .   Zipped and tight lipped ZATLOP's   

The problem Australians now have is best illustrated by the fact they cannot trust the ABC to report on ecological economy and environmental risk ; and haven't been for decades, This arrogant incompetence , has of course made most of Australia's most productive citizens on the land go mad.    The ABC is no longer welcome in the country for its arrogant incompetence on matters of conservation science and practice in particular.  (apparent exceptions like Landline , Back roads and Gardening Australia should be discussed later in their proper contexts)
The whole EE profession has become too political and a proper discussion too long winded to properly engage the wider audience.  Maybe the baby has been thrown out with the dishwater?

It is the ABC and our inadequate education and mentoring system that are largely responsible for this massive distraction from a much-needed goal. Our children's failure to enjoy the idea of a career working with people who work with nature is one of the consequences of this.  Australia could and should be a lead trainer of people in resilience and ecological economic EE science; instead of bench testers we have screen testers.  Instead of training foreign students to help them manage their own land (eg  the old Columbo plan) we offer our land to foreigners.  Like Romanians, the slow East , the failed USSR , the authoritarian  states, and all those who are too slow to move with history and new industry ( including EE ) we will reap the poverty rewards of too much focus on land alone. 

A lesser known reality is that by taking the lead in science classes where they are not qualified to do so ,  the ABC club have dumbed down the issues and left our children with more fear and confusion than anyone of us who knows their territory in sound scientific planning would have ever expected. . This is a huge area of importance for the future, but one that has little proper focus on it. 
The ABC , when not doing kindergarten science offer us razzamatazz and quick fiz .Someone like Todd Sampson and ABC producers, just don't get it.   

The fact that  so many western children know so little about how the world works is deeply disturbing and I  encourage you the reader to not give up in pursuing the full set of answers  so that our children can enjoy designing and working with nature rather than simply fearing the consequences of man's inevitable failures to properly engage with  it .  Don't ever dismiss the misanthropes either 

So how could this be ? There is nothing the ABC like to talk more about than applied science . 
The clue is the leadership within the organization and the culture of nature and science worship ( some would say scientism)  that has largely replaced the respect for true reporting of edgy science arguments. Australia needs a very robust independent science association that builds from the regions up.  

A driver for so much fearmongering in the ABC seems to be simply the clubs denial that they really understand its role in developing and promoting advances in scientific understanding. They know Shoemaker ( Communication of Innovations ) but little else .
Like many of the commercial media they understand enough science to be dangerous ; being more techno tragics than patient testers as Ellul put it ;  they are selling solutions that have not been tested.
The ABC need to run a lot more programs on the scrapheap challenges of history .   As good philosophers scientists and historians do. 


This distracted agency is nothing new .Regional people are seen by the city as backward. Children think they know more than their parents and teachers.

Who should the public trust ? 
Inexperienced people often think that wisdom origins itself at University , I am a member of an international science agency and the biggest problem with the many academics in that organisation is that they cannot easily commit to real world decision making: They say nothing or nothing that hasn't been through the rocky horror show of citations
.If the ABC knew what they were doing they would realize that experienced professionals face risks everyday and learn and develop confidence by testing theory on the ground;  the things that most academics are not really responsible for 
 Most Academics are so specialized that they can say nothing edgy because they know so much about such a small area, Careless one who get their faces on the media should not be easily trusted because wise trustable ones are aware of the limitations of their brief .  Wise ones can be Zatlops too! 

The people should trust the locals, who know the country
 Regional people are seen by the city as backward. This old perception still dogs better understanding of modern reality for many reasons.
It's now the dependant and distant wage city based earners who are distant, Their connection with real world risk is through unreliable mediums. They see bt do not understand and are very vulnerable to the media link person 
 The bloke who turned the world upside down was dismissed by many because he came from  the country - Nazareth . 


Australians need to commit to understanding where confidence , knowledge , ecological economics and competence  is really built.  

Trying to be nice

Funny or Serious ? I wonder if they know? 

 Many of us oldies grew up with the ABC , It was a tougher and more disciplined beast than it is now .
Our parents taught us correctly that going to church there was better than going to church anywhere else . And so it used to be when we all went to the ABC  . When it was humble and disciplined like a sound profession of reporting can be.
When the class of failed scientists didn't try to educate us about science, like they have been trying to do for 30 years. 

Paradoxically most of learnt from Jesus to never trust in mere authorities. That includes any church majority as the history of it trying to please people was what would destroy any good church in a day. 

But times have changed, and the world view the ABC is trying to appeal to has moved on. Instead of  a rugged Christian worldview of the search for truth and the evil inside , the audience is content with the old dark age and sentimental fearfilled views that any evil, should it exist,( not sure are we?  exists in something external. The problem is not in you but around you ,  



The robust idea of reporting all individuals has gone.  Maybe some reporters ( not ABC of course ) are trying to trick us ???
Those of us who know things, know we can't trust the ABC to know very much. The ABC  clearly to this day edit what goes to air to suit agendas and club commentary themes. Like the people, they are actually afraid of knowing too much.  We all have to weigh up how much prejudice is around . We still want it tight,  but every bit has to be right or we switch off -- and we are switching the ABC off  because it is not tight. 

 Not that we would ever expect the ABC staff to know much anyway. It's early reporters like Elizabeth bond , and Randall McDonald would not cut you off but really welcome the diversity, Diversity of opinion has only grown in the real world . Is there not  now the restricted world that only no knows heaps of facts and because it could never cope with sound science ( which science where ) it does not yet know  it needs a back road to come home through.

Pleasing Todays world view means trying to please the wind .The world view has returned to the worship of the superficial. Popular imagery, as McLuhan says, determines the message.   There is no longer any need for origins of evil because according to the new innocents, it doesn't exist .

Worse still the staff fail in science and so we are left with their incompetent speculations on superficial feelings, worship of tech heroes and Compassion and Nature as the gods of choice ( which clearly Nature having compassion is does not) .C&N are in conflict . 
Conflict is inevitable in nature which means the ABC is often useless in helping us  understand and deal with conflict.   

Since there is no expectation of the evil within , everything is perceived good on the outside. 
This pathetically shallow sentimental remnant of the tough nature of the beast that  is what makes us some of the most thin and pathetic groups in the modern  world,

Somehow we think we can change the world - the very atmosphere infact. 

We are rich, live on an island, and fancy ourselves as some of most fair-minded people in the world; . This  feeblemindedness, based as it is on a simple self-righteous feeding game where we the threatened, agree that we are all good blokes, is no doubt what Mr Chamberlain represented when he left his country naked for war in 1945.

ABCTV is such a mixed bag -----its unwatchable

 In trying to please everybody, the ABC is pleasing nobody. Many clearly commentate when they should just report, which makes them worse than much Commercial media. Young reporters are not well trained when old hands add adjectives and write what they feel and like to say and fill their reports with feelings. 

The incompetent United Nations may support gas lighting or the stupid tyranny of silencing anyone  who elicits anger,  but God help us if we stop people speaking freely on that basis ; None of us would remain married.  

A childlike reactionary lot 
I am sure that ABC Melbourne, ABC NEWS and QANDA did not , for example, realize their respectful thinking audience were switching them off well before the stats came in.   
Many thinking country people were switching them off a decade ago , but the comfort club did not know .
I feel for all those in the country who relied on 3LO and Radio National . Sky news is not perfect but The ABC is now untrustworthy ( esp on matters that affect big picture ECO) and country people are listening to other sources; Not ideal . 

Toward a more sustainable Independant Broadcaster 
Most of the old club should retire; they have had their chance to perform .The competency levels required to report on economy and environment MUST move with the need for higher competency and gravitas in those areas.(I talk about how it might survive its own self destructive comfort zone commitment to careers elsewhere) . 

If the ABC is to have a future it must focus on mature communication and ditch the commentariat of incompetent inexperienced careless cynical and feebleminded noisemakers  

The ABC, even when visiting back roads with Heather has little sense they are kindergarten entrants in the tough game of making a living out there. Muster dogs  ( where at last we have some humility to the fore)  and landline are good programs but they often are only made to please the patronisers in the city.

Opportunities to do good comedy are being missed 

While it is not always "the city selling us solutions as if  we are stupid"  our ABC has missed the chance to do in COMEDY terms what "Clarksons farm" has done for the world.
It's the city SmartA's who should be laughed at.  Absolutely. 

Time to go to confession. Jeremy has gone to confession and done the worlds farmers in one episode what the ABC and other media have never done in decades. 

Imagine how much more the ABC could sell to the world if it wasn't so religious and arrogant about its ability to solve the worlds environment problems . Imagine the excitement amongst young people to do physics and chemistry  if real world scientists  were explaining how we already feed the world in many relatively sustainable ways  on this dry continent !
Imagine the ABC doing something even better and more robust than " A Country Practice " 

SEPTEMBER 2025   13th
There were to be fair some good young reporters taking to the protests in Melbourne  today but the producers clearly have this bad habit of selecting  what suits them. A celebration for the assassinated Kirk by thousands trumps the hundreds repeating the same old on our streets.
That poor reporting and training of young staff should get producers sacked !

Clearly there are people in the management of the ABC who think we are stupid . We know that many in there who are old, tired and predictable and should be told their appointment ends.  And yes they are being punished in some cases for incompetent reporting and very poor leadership in their field.   


The main point is

1. There is no discipline in that place that works.
2. No respect much for interviewing people who have lots of life experience or reporting well. 

Writers don't get trained to cut out careless defamatory adjectives and commentary because older staff add their favorite adjectives and lines like the incompetent Alan Kohler,  who will obviously read anything that's put before him. 

No media group ever get it right.

 But the worst are those who never go to confession on their prejudices and the way their cynicism  and powerlessness ( yes its true ) is clouding their awareness of their own incompetence.
As a competent earth scientist i have had to switch off the preaching from the pulpit on the environment.
I mean you would think these inexperienced pew sitters would use their reporting budget to reach out to all voices on controversial subjects. You would think after listening to the Greens for decades they would want adults with some understanding to be standing in the pulpit .
Instead they let the childrenthe children read the simple lessons that make them seem like fire lighters and bringers of the light , when all they do is bring a new tune of contempt for those outside the building .


With so many old Labor and media people like Chris Uhlmann  joining the chorus of those clapping the OUTSIDE  street party of blistering speeches by  Jacinta, Nova Peris and many others Hollie Hughes , how many before Parliaments STOP THE ROT in the ABC news commentariat. 
Bad luck Richard Marles - you will never be PM because your collegues are not only incompetent but because they are like ALBO - silent and silenced  They sit quietly in the pews no longer exercise the voices we gave them.
As the Senate estimates  demonstrated today. Silenced but out their cancelling those who actually speak the truth or ask the hard questions .

ABC Making up their own news

 Instead of making up stories to attack things ABC staffers don't like,( like their fake news story on 4WD's ; damage to dunes this last week of March 2024 ), we should insist that our broadcaster /investigator find out why a vast bunch of government departments have stuffed up the dunes, the beaches, the swale and the near shore wave zone at Apollo Bay.

just for example carparks , access along the top ( creates erosion) tree tunnels ( create erosion ) but no grass on the dune ,

Excessive drainage through the dune and swale no longer providing stormwater storage , parking and access for the public .

And increasing fill and development of the swale in recent years

The subtle force of the wind on 60 metres of bare but flat sand has been largely ignored by recent managers.     

The large amount of sand dumped in recent days on the beach at Marengo will quickly move DOWN into the tidal zone creating bars and rips .

What makes the sand move UP to build the dune? The sand only moves UP and settles when there when there is a CLEAR long surface and grass vegetation to trap it on the higher end of this necessary but subtle set of flattish curves.The old large trees in North Apollo bay allow wind tunnels under them,  making the erosion worse when there is no low vegetation under them. 

The Minister for local government should be asked what COT have done with the 13% POS tax they impose on developers and where they have acquired the Public open Space on the coast that they are required to do under the provisions of the Subdivision Act.

Why fake news ? No particular sites of offence by 4WD were named and the particular ecologists drawn in the lottery of lucky winners this time around wandered around the subject like the journos involved . The Science and integrity unit of the ABC ( should they exist ) should provide the discipline required to reduce the subtle agenda and catastrophic creating that has eroded sound practical peoples trust in the inexperienced ABC.

ABC can do great things -

 When it reports what is happening and not interprets the facts for us.
After decades of deep disappointment with the above problem, and the failure of the club to recognize its dogged determinism (eg own lack of real life experience, its immaturity, rejection of conservatism,  its commitment to some idealistic goal of progress and its quite clear growth of cynicism within the ranks.

Just some examples 
1,. Reporting some of the reasons why border closures are not always Israel problem  ie protests.
Still no questions from you on why the Palestinians allow so many women and children in the war zone -- do you think we are dumb?  Do you think your quiet cancelling of sources will meet with passive acceptance?
We are not stupid and simply don't watch or listen to ABCTV news or 774 or whatever.   There are some good reporters on RN but I won't mention them here . 


YET POSITIVELY   I  have noticed what I consider longer and more extended reports on protests and demonstrations say even on this Easter weekend.
For too long we haven't been able to trust ABC news because the producers have not encouraged unsavory pieces of news.
I am a competent environmental planner and simply cannot stomach the simplicities on all your channels on risk management in environment -

BACK ROADYANS would sack the incumbents ---in the news service

In the interests of the earth and our children's opportunity to study it and manage it .


This weeks example. 
The ABC 's recent focus on floods in the Goulburn is the latest in the decades of years when the lefts agenda , fear and ignorance dominates the news and the interpretation of events outside the building .Fires floods  are catastrophic - they have to be to make the preachers sermon real .   

The river is actually flooding because for the first time in eons , the dams are full and the stream flows  are more natural . Nothing to do with CC . And the hypocrisy is that its these sorts of big floods that do what the 20 billion spent of the Murray Darling Plan can never do -- regenerate the wetlands . And  dear Auntie plays wet nurse to those who need to move so they don't keep getting wet feet . Its not a joke its madness .Children entertaining the children - insisting that no mature truths and big picture be put - asking that no funeral dirges be played. 

The ABC think it's their job to WARN people of the dangers of climate change and unlike true
 MUSTER DOGS --they have no maturity about how to herd the sheep . 
And worse,  they have no idea where they are taking the sheep . 
MUSTER DOGS  a great program because we get to meet real people without agendas  and not one word of CC is mentioned amongst these productive earth working "hayseeds"( who mostly watch SKY ) .


The only way our children can avoid their desperate cynicism and fanaticisms in their news services is if they went back to reporting practical scientists who do know the ground truth ; Those who can tell the aweful truth about who is denying the truth ,which party is  withholding it when ,  or as mostly happens - those who fly with the wind, fear and arrogant ignorance  and hypocritical accusations against hay seeds and the thieves , murderers and rapists who inhabit big institutions . True science trumps the ace of prejudice from the reactionaries. 

RETIRE all the old ones at least .    Noone is learning anything new with them telling their same old stories ,  Adams the farmer who isn't  one. Robin Williams the science show leader who isn't a scientist and people like Doogue who runs a program on belief when she has never believed anything .
This is a club full of arrogant, inexperienced  cynical reactionaries who don't KNOW very much and could not inspire our children to do anything but be like them .Why should any broadcaster have more than ten years tenure?      

The challenged we face must be dealt with in humility if our children are not to be burdened with the arrogance of some of our institutions. 

The ABC club has been convinced for decades it knows something, but is not really sure what it is . 
It sells something like Climate change so easily because the answers are always changing  
The ABC have,  like so many powerful institutions  got into a fanatical mood because its right to exercise power in choosing what we see has been being lost in a big way for decades.
Everyone has an agenda. The authorship inside the ABC must not be hindered by the producers  choices.   

2024 New year machinations

 The  ABC CLUB are not in a good mood this Christmas. Their preachy mood doesn't go down well with anyone. Complaints are coming from their regular readers. Trying to smile when really you think the congregation still do not listen to you.   ABC not only preach bad news , they are stuck in it . 
What ever happened to generous enjoying giving and forgiving  with  good tidings of great joy to all people.  According to the high priests, we have been bad . 
It is of course, not just the ABC's problem, but the mood of ageing progressives across the world.

The old reactionaries sails are not held up by hot and warm air -  rather they are running cold critical and out of air . They are only ever full of substance when they are sailing with the wind, or a taxpayer funded wind geed  up by the wishy washy marginals.  When the wind stops,  the lack of substance of their empty action agendas become obvious . Just bad, bad news of guilt with no redemption and no way out . We get the feeling they have the greater problem  because we do bear some guilt, they presume to offer redemption when they don't know it or own it . 

Lower CO2 is the new pie in the sky , And for all the pushing , there is going to be push back because  sound scientists  always said,  the case for Anthro GW is still out .  
  
The management do not realize that a faith in progress, per say,  never lasts too long and that reporting someone who is drunk with some natural high that has some word sense, is better than having safe guests who are always so sober and self-righteous about the State of the World .
Strangely they are all in church again and want us to join them . 

You would think that not one of them would use up fossil fuels going anywhere for Christmas. 
ABC are in a guilt mood and preaching guilt catastrophe and condemnation in complete 
contrast to the Angels. 
Not that a sober view of how we greedily use up Resouces is not needed- but not as a backdrop to all news . 

Some of our young are thankfully not swallowing the wallowing bit . We just hope they get their first bit of hope by realizing the ABC and wider media are overstating  danger and making no room for feedback adjustment , overstatement and plain ignorance by their chosen naysayers and "experts ". 
The ABC have no time for people with experience - only those who sit there studying the porno and speculate on why everyone else should not worry like they teach we should do . .
 
The people are now hungry for something that works; something that  we can genuinely share with generations of our forebears and the growing numbers of former ABC listeners who no longer listen . 

I am now a swifty. We are against those who insist on their power games and their loud powerful voices ; those who hide behind the swift fix and the swift cancellation of the other side - something THE ABC have specialized in now over the last few years.

  

Name calling - the fanaticism of many in public broadcasting is obvious.

 Apparently SKY NEWS is from  the devil and you must not watch it . Or you will go straight to Hell . 

One of the reasons our public broadcaster ABC is failing to remain credible is clearly their failure to understand how we learn. Unlike most of us who test things and find out, they speculate and play with why questions, teaching their audience (sadly too our children) to enjoy cynicism, not the growing sense of confidence and certainty that we want each other to develop by having a truly broad education.

 Why, as well educated an audience as the ABC has, do they name call? 
Why are the pews crying out - do not listen or you will be misled.  

Why does SKY report what it does and why does ABC report what it does ? I don't know and I don't care to spend each night wondering,  except SKY seeks wide and ABC is narrow casting . I still watch a bit of both.  

Increasingly the ABC 's choice of what goes to air is blatantly THEIR choice and it is not worth watching unless you have time to unpick the news from the commentary and value adding adjectives and pictures they use  - oh so well and so subtly .  The Devil is subtle and sly . best we all get to know him/her  . I want Aussie children to be robust and realistic in their thinking,  not just simple and cynical. 

Study fanaticism1.blogspot.com . It's a common disease at certain times in the life of the powerful. We all need more humility in accepting that we don't know much - that way ABC audiences would have learnt heaps more in the last few decades.

As an effective resilience planning scientist I know the dumbing down is a disaster to which our ABC has played its part.
Time for humility and respect for all authors !! You mainly get fanatical when you are losing it and the internet is taking over - not a bad thing ?esp when the ABC  waste so much time/money  writing it own dramas.  
Get more community TV and radio on the ABC channels. 

ABC Melbourne Radios in trouble

 Article in the Age show that audiences for 774 in melbourne have dropped by half in the last year . 

There are no doubt many causes but one stands out to me as a chicken that has come home to roost .

The presumption  they have that this  Club produces the most thorough news , and this is, and always was wrong .The truth is hard to find and like our governments they can spend lots of our money making it look like they are out there finding it and funding it  
PRIDE  has come before the FALL. and only truth will se the people free.   
 


It doesn't matter,  as Waugh said in Scoop  ( and other writers of true stories know ) how many reporters and resources you dedicate to finding the truth,  the full story can be where  he reporters don't go .
A lot will change when the 3 ABC channels source material from sites where the ABC angels were never allowed to tread . 
 
Some ABC Melbourne reporters ( eg Feine and Epstein) have been afraid to go west for decades and  those of us who are truly local know when the presumption of awareness ( about being truly Local ) 

You see you can have as many regional ABC offices as you like too,  but if club zero and mother priests  is full of pride the disease will control it .
The full dimension  of how our pride about what we know undermines what we really do know is a matter too big to be dealt with here . Maybe Scott and Waheed will give it a better go , one day ? 

We can all get very theoretical about this and most moderns don't now want to leave the deterministic lockup they set up as home  so the real spiritual nature of the problem is not going to be discussed here.

 When you lose power , as the ABC is over its audience , you get fanatical and are in no mood to accept the change that must eventually come. For the metanoia that threatens deeply the logic and method of work. .
There is little point when the mood is fanatical in playing the old games of pedantry and expecting the leadership to confess to its obvious sin;  rationalizing the threats and self righteousness . 

After all , the Devil has mastered this in all churches of all kinds; this fantasy 

 We appear to come here to confess and recognize our abject rebellion and self righteousness  and the glory of our Creator's work around us,  but really most of us walk out the door without actually doing any of that .We may even think of ourselves as change agents  but have never changed ourselves.  


So let me give you just one very practical example of overreach by ABC melbourne .

ABC 774 try to do too much. Like emergency broadcasting . They started this after we ( #OCRFM in 1991) started doing it. We wereones with the fires  but they, like all commercials were copying us . ; but because they couldn't do it as well  their  lie ( "its  efficient" ) and their power games were not exposed . It suits the powerful ad the city to assume they know things . .

ABC 774 started calling themselves LOCAL when we started EB , when we had all the situation people( 20 or so )and we still are truly local and competing against a local commercial station in a listening area of 40000 people - the ABC are not THERE on ground - infact they are now afraid ( Mr Feine and Mr Epstein ) to go farther west than Torquay.

Sorry if you don't accept it, but since May 2022 , the city have decided to allow Bandt to run the country :( country peopl lost their vote years ago) 
 So why aren't thinking people  troubled enough about the total unfairness and threat to sound planning of our children's competence , faith in democracy and scientific planning ability.?   All too hard until you find the essentail clue for our children asi have restated in RSW , accept regional representation that is fair , not Gough Whitlams simple maths , which is not fair .  

Our community radio station, in the highest bushfire zone of all in Vic , used to switch off all other programs and run dedicated loops of up to date local fire news broadcasts through the entire time of the NE SW crisis bush fire period. We locals actually know how to predict and deal with real threats ( like flood fire,drought landslides )not just speculate wildly about them.

We never received a cent to do that work , and still don't . The Lorne fire fronts in 1983 lasted less than a day and biggest impacts are over hours, not days .

The thing thinking people need to recognise is that when we start losing our supposed influence , we risk becoming fanatical - pretending we do know things we don't - and that's a real turnoff ) This is what is happening to all trad media because the internet and our own connections grow the competence these mediums lack .

A crisis tends to show up the agencies weakness of judgment but noone else gets to employ so many adults who have never grown up and got some experience let alone confess to cutting people off . Jon Feine and Tony Jones are examples of the immature… 

No one else in our society gets to gaslight people so easily .

 He's the hypocrisy about church time in ABC church. A subtle form of gaslighting 
 Like all churches ABC church has ways of excommunicating attempted communicants . 
The priest presenting says to  the  person on line........ and in the frame ? 
Are you angry? 
" You, the bad listener  are angry ( therefore are sinning according to that church ) SO , we will switch you off . we will do it nicely of course. we are very nice here at the ABC .Gaslighting incorporated 

 ABC  runs like a church even though it would fight to the death  to say its not religious . Its largely trying to bring in the kingdom of the secular determinist which like all good priests do,it  preaches this  simple doctrine .
 God is dead and therefore you are your own judge , Don't worry what others think . Do what you feel like and get what you feel like and because you have all these drivers to survive , push to get what nature deserves you to have , More food sex, travel and guess what - you don't have to go to church every week  , let alone confess anything  . What is there to confess??? 
( only those we target from monday to friday have to confess anything - polys and big business etc ) 

We need the ABC to retain some credibility - It must deal with its cynics

Sack its old cynics who have occupied production seats for far longer than is ever justified .
Get those old faces and their friends OFF and put on people who know stuff . Not just academia and the  shell shocked. 

Noone in any other broadcasting service gets to control so much subject matter without the qualifications and experience to do so and for so long .
How come producers like Doogue and the Cassidies still have so much influence over so many years .
Fine ,they have a few followers , BUT they have had their chance to tell us what little they know, in the context of the little they have learnt about who knows what . academia ? 
We  are not fooled by new presenters when they are half puppets . 
No broad casting service is more hypocritical talking about their lead on the  truth and big ideas Most Australians know the ABCTV  used to be trusted by thinking people - now thinking people switch it off .   

ABCscience , Education and Big small ideas has been underwhelmingly predictable with no recognition of the reasons why Australia has been in a dumbing down mood for decades. 
David Stretton tries to tell you that ABC drama producers are crap and that Ballantyne has no backbone to cut to the chase, let alone that dependant club leader  - the very much asleep Mr Adams .

Sadly, i have worked in the public service  where the added risk is that polys will cultivate their very own ignorance in the form of their appointments; 
I have been at high level meetings where uni chiefs take the money ( cynically ) and run . Independence has been lost .

The lack of independence and big picture  is particularly true in my area of risk management where wannabes get points  for manufacturing worry and justifying their meddling money wastage with an abundance of no caution with our money .All parties keep mum on environment because they know zilch about how it works . 

Too many Unis are NOW competing for the PC with too many smart A polys and media looking for ' results".

Don't expect the media to know. They often worship academia and worse;  the many blind academics in "science areas" ( everyone thinks they are doing science when they are not) whose heads have been looking down a microscope or just processing a huge pile of mere facts all their lives.

Overly comfortable clubs of good intention

Our forefathers knew that the greatest evil is done in the name of the best intention. But we don't .We are so clever - weve evolved . Like Dr Andrews and his clones, some  think their and our actions can exterminate the evil thing. 

 Burke might have added"AND workshopped solutions", If he lived in our day, when all levels of government are covered in the white of right intention  and are therefore untouchable , the clause "AND workshoping solutions"explain a lot .  . The incumbents believe the workshoping of ideas in church brings glory and honor . That monster evil- where is it ?  the truth is that its  in a pack- pity they haven't thought to study how to unpack a pack of lies   ,Too many of the incumbents stopped studying and thinking years ago . They rely on feelings and never touch the red hot risk   of human heart deception in their thinking. 

Where is evil now so many of us concentrate on its eradication? . we the most righteous are paid to be good,  so we are good-- naturally  . The ratbags out there need to be paid to be good  ?   .
The only church we want is the one that starts with confession , .

What happens is that unlike people in the real world they wont have to pay and they will just take a budget to try something new. Like the kids that some of them are, they use the new to  grab attention  The slack parents in the audience don't notice the wasted time and effort    , The ABC can be very entertaining if children's and meddlers antics amuse you
We are watching the destruction of democracy and of course smart stupid people like Phillip Adams know its personal ...but not them , Adams  is just a common projector of ad hominem- evil  is down to evil persons and institutions
Pity his  logic for the need for  public service no longer works . as Dostoevsky said - if there is God, there is no other party .

Adams  would  do better if he studied what keeps him and other noisemakers POPULAR... and it aint all praiseworthy. .

What to do with our Awefully Serious ABC

What do you do with any overly religious group in Western Culture  - you offer them freedom .You can tell them to lighten up , but such groups have to ditch their fears ( inc their weight of cynicism) 
The producers at ABCTV have been gourging up our taxes trying to be more funny ( Abc2/3 ) but its not working . I am not going to tell you here why because the whole hovel of TV production in the ABC needs to rethink elements of its culture . We are switching off .
 A return to real respect for the culture ( not always )we came from would clearly save aussies from the confusion and confounding free try at everything new thats killing TV; A return by our ABC  may help save us from the lostness of moral ( whats light /whats dark)  disease that is right across the media.more reporters? only if we get more reports.  Best practice is not to write the story but let someone else tell the story  ( one 2 one Ahndo ,Back roads Aus story)

Much of ABCTV has no idea of how to enjoy the truth about the human condition without offering some cynical  view of others and a weighty dumping of new theories and mixes of philosophy that simply don't work . And it not just Christians who are saying this .

1. Brendan O Neil  points to the cul de sac of misanthropy for example in which many reactionaries now find themselves .

3.   JB Peterson reminds us that the philosophical frame of religion is not poison but the most powerful  force for good and evil . If you are a post modern reactionary who doesn't believe in evil you and your children may be lost in more darkness than you think so much for talking "shining light on things "       
   The overoptimistic children of baby booming era may have aged comfortably in the hallowed halls of comfort castle  but if cynicism is all they are offering they will lose themselves and their audience -- and are  They see no way forward-- we can tell because they keep doing things and speaking about the same old issues ( big whatever, conspiracy amongst conservatives just for eg ) Boring and predictable .

Boring and predictable  774 Melbourne 25th June 2019   Nothing better symbolizes the overly serious religious frame of presenters here than the overly  serious way they field calls and come at issues . The snide petty and pedantic bush lawyers set the sail for the morning to nick pick the previous nights Q and A points of their interest . Boring and predictable self righteousness on show 
   How much more fun and unpredictable it was to listen to 3AW  where callers were honoured to tell their stories . U try to get through 774 panel when they are on a roll . watch the rollout and the wash up 000many who once listened NOW  just switch off 
2. Fake news 
   ABCTV news Monday night 24 June 2019 The news was made out to include millions of threatened species when it was about 2 pretty parrots and possums well known to those who have to/used to listen to the worry warriors..   Piss off same old stories and report new or different  
3. Misplaced concreteness leading to unecessary confounding The Drum 25 June 2019 ( Ellen Fanning ) Program shows how unreliable chosen panel members and discussion equity can be. ACOSS spokeswoman  freely moves to every other issue of note  leaving us with the normal impression of a stacked panel so typical of ABCTV programs like Q and A . Another hour of my life wasted wandering through the same old.   Weighted is the word
    Sure it looks OK to doubt on the surface , when you fact check (how many time mentioned )it The businesswoman for eg  i think was not an adequate rep moving around too much on the subjects   Restraint in commentary and the overly controlling arm waving  presenter leaves us with confusion ; her childish attempts to find cause and effect typical of the sub science and sus get nowhere style of reporting;
   No unexpected confronting facts can come from such panels ; panels will never be perfectly balanced but the drum is one hour  that could really improve the debate not dumb it down ;; Parliament is more fun and less predictable .
   We were left with trite noise and speculation about the human condition that i am sure frightened the only eco person on the panel .Even Adam fell for the furphy of the laughable money motivated charity drivers raised - one day we get Marxism , the next we get the glory of capitalism in its most obscene form . Good try i suppose but Ellen must seek to let panel go.
   Adam weighed up the need to "just do it"  in end but the audience by Fanning were left with the normal  confounding when conservative matters raised . The pathetic excuse of " we need more information " before we act shows how fears that characterize the inert inactive and incompetent left - Too many  think they have aright to control the government because THEY are not sure.  A lack of respect for the job and people in power MUST be addressed by staff .
4. ABC management should clearly instruct chairpersons  to argue for the peoples' choice even if they don't like it . Its childish nonsense and disrespectful to do otherwise , weed out this  disease .  No doubt the Greens and the cross bench will continue to play their disrespectful games -- another 3 yrs of pain  .

 The confident Jon Feine proclaims he will ,whatever happens tomorrow, run a program on Sunday 19th May 2019 to do "the wash up" . Little does he and Barry Cassidy  realize  that they are the ones who are washed up and out because they are both  on the wrong side of history and truth.

1. Corangamite will be retained by the conservatives ( see some reasons here) Victoria's most marginal seat .
2. Wash up is a cynical term . A symbol of the hole Faine finds himself in )  If either of those simpletons  were to do anything for the country they haven't matured  and would have recognized their lead in that subject is one reason so many of our children do not vote.  ( I was on campaign trial to encourage young people to vote and and get the a decent environment ,
   The legacy of the ABc is cynicism which wouldn't be so bad ( if it was just that -quite essential ) if it wasn't linked with clear failure to report conservatives and people who seek to represent a non progressive view - their judgement ( Progressives are stuck with the simple doctrine that conservatives  are backward and dinosaur like )
   
   ADAPTING  OR COMPROMISING
   
   Anyone watch just Tanya and Richard arguing the point about whose going to change the world on Qand A would be diching both children and their parties  . The ABC failed to see what its audience saw - two kids.
3. Most importantly the Conservatives focused on getting the kids out the Senate , The big problem ( the electorate knows it )  the simple worshipers at the ABC failed to address ( whose doing it ? ) Couldn't be those conservatives " they are so backward they can easily be ignored
   
   THE REAL ADAPTERS
   No despite church teaching , some conservatives know how and when to adapt - unlike the pedant priests at the ABC they know when tio change the name of an institution to presrev it form the morildund 
   
   
4. TAKE The ABC's shallow taunt that the Nationals are corrupt, It ignores the wisdom of the mature than no sensible person trusts parties ( we just reject the ones we trust least ) The conservatives are ahead  of the limpet like progressives in that they believe in adaption .
   Labor has no such idea ---it stupidly and incomprehensibly claims it will survive by compromise - The Labor advocates ( bill tanya and keanall)
   If the party does survive it wil still be just one big shallow empty shell called Labor
   
   You might not like Cori but anyone who starts a new party ( without a fortune  and an ego as big as a one - the two leading "friends"  of the majors )

   Despite protestations neither Feine nor Epstein would come to the deep south ( say Colac) where they would learn that mere words and good intentions  are not enough to swing hearts in any highly productive creative community . Barrys wife  Heather has done a great job to hel p ( as Landline does ) the city understand a bit about the country but like any program that claims to call itself local,  it and most ABC rural political reporting been doing a shocking job for decades 
   WAY FORWARD ?
   Heal thy selves and some for soem absolution -- then you might desreve the cheques each week . 

DIMWITS and their doctrines

The high priests of the new churches of DIMWITS ( Doing It My Way Is Truth Societies ) church cannot challenge errors in thinking and excuses made for bad behavior . 

The high priests of such places are leaders in name only - they aren't parenting and mentoring well  They can't say NO and they even comply with the shallow Rhetoric of first thought Suffices f( RIFTS  in creating laws that crucify their ability to influence the children; make them think more deeply.  They make laws in the paradoxical name of discrimination ( can be a good or a bad thing - its use therefore suits those who want confusion    
DIMWITS,  by applying their very own doctrine of RIFTS don't allow  ANYONE in theirs or any other  household in the country ( big task) to make the error prone feel guilty .

For God's sake -it may make some pathetic,  lazy , arrogant and blind recalcitrant persons in your midst  change their ways and their pathetic self justifying logic.

That out of the road,  let me tackle the ineffective and confused angst over why

1 Parents  don't want to send their kids to public schools.

The reason many , many christians and non believers choose, and have been choosing,  for decades to NOT choose PUBLIC schools is because the "beyond secular' boundary 
is so important . We don't want the public system to be preaching to our kids -- The loss of trust is widespread and due to the consequences of post modernism .

It seems to me that the old standard for SECULAR protected ( in a reasonably effective way( not complete !) anyone who had a sexual or religious preference from being judged ( If not in the school ground , at least in the classroom!) 

The old standard did this by 1. Sitting in silence on the subject 2. Teacher saying all class members are entitled to their choice without my judgement or 3 Just mentioning categories - not making a value assessment .



I think Christians are just as supportive of not judging sexual  and religious preferences in the children, but the idea that church schools can't choose their own teachers is a load of unreasonable hypocritical rubbish ,


Noone is forcing anyone to teach or go to a church school. 

So , some say, the governmnet funds religious schools  - Religious people pay taxes.

When the women are not happy

What is it with the girlfriends groups at the ABC that they have to go on and on about  men.
The offended ones  are not going to win any points because more and more thinking people can see past the patronising stereotype that even the PM puts on us   '' we can do better ". The royal we is a careless pee.

If the women are going to take on the giant job of speaking  for all women make sure you do speak for all women .

 Like many men,  women are using genetics to justify their sexism and they simply shouldn't. Its( whatever it is this week)  no more in their DNA  (XX or XY) even though Y deprived like to say so - so many use the damning determinism of their age  to justify their griping ; such sadness  and associated madness is predetermined.
 Whatever the content,  few men are listening because of all the grizzling and griping underneath .  We men ( most of us) can see it; they are being sexist about the question of abuse, even if theXX's can't.
Its also another example of the overplaying of some noisy group that is oh so annoying at the ABC - we are switching off more and more
That said , women are abused more and more - but as their grandmothers might tell them - ask yourself what you did before you go hunting the devil. Whats really itching you ?

My mother would be offended at Annabelles portrait of her hard doneby sex in "guess whose coming to dinner _ year by year .
As a very successful career woman she was happy to give up her stimulating career to become a full time mum . With her girlfriends,  she enjoyed all sorts of  creative and diverse manufacturing ( not the drudgery of most work places)  She,  like so many of her growing group of new best friends  started and ran community groups and activities - not ONE mentioned in the decade of dinners  program . 


Thought more than once that the family on show were also eating or regurgitating words that weren't really their own. - reinforcing some fixed hard done by womans stereotype. wouldn't it be great to have met grandma !!!! I had visions of Margeret Mead being taken in by teenagers telling her what she wanted to hear . Innnocent - the children or the adults . Peterson on Cain and Abel?

So many liberated women of a n earlier age  celebrated the choice to be household and group  leaders and the release from drudgery  that technology like clothes washers provided.   The program is a bit of fun , but if the film producers at ABC were truly competitive and running in the dirt  they wouldn't be wasting our money on soap cleaned up for PC - even Mystery Road and so many Y deprived lawyers  and well dressed detectives don't cut deep enough for those of who live on the edge. Where in Mystery road is the edgy rejection of "poor me" driven problems ?????



My mother knew there was no relief  for her poor husband whose drudgery was in not being paid to provide food for his country ( animals and fruit)  I wish the ABC would realize it has a predjudiced view of history before our children do.

The search for deeper things

While I liked Sarah Ferguson's closer engagement with people in the domestic violence series, I struggle with her questions. Dumb sub scientific "why" questions especially .We used to pay ABC to report - not run scientific investigations . Now they think they can solve problems or even understand them .Where's the respect at the ABC for those who do that properly  in the truly complex matters of healthcare ?
Filling their programs with their favorite words ideas and questions is one thing,  but not seeking much advice is the tragedy in most of this; the deeper things ( below)are not uncovered.
In a paradox of heavenly proportions they talk of " shining the light " on things . Too Christian to be believed from them . Maybe they are confused about what deception looks like ?

Nowhere does this strange  habit of cynical journo asking dumb question  become an obvious downer  to us in the audience  than when the person being asked the question has something to hide or is stuck in celebrating my ideas mode .
While the latter is increasingly common,  it is  not helped by self select but stacked panels on  everything from QandA to TheDrum .
Dumb questions are OK but they should come from the audience - they don't. QandA 's staged question setup was never so obvious as when Malcolm Turnbull was on recently.
Anyone would think Malcolm  was a christian ; deserving the tearing apart treatment you get in Emperor Jones Colosseum
Everyone has something to hide ; Our ignorance our prejudice . That's why the lack of real independent observers on ABC is so annoying ,.     We all know the technique - have a least one lone outsider that fulfills our obligation even if it provides just a convenient beating up, moving on  target should they get to speak for too long . The ABC has a really bad habit of wasting our time, They do it with titillating and splash statistics. Edgy  but with no go boundaries.No dumb questions from the audience makes the above programs amongst the most pretentious  on TV.
Everyone should be learning while  at the ABC,  but many are not .
What really annoys me is that behind and under the shallow response to domestic violence epidemic we get refusal to talk and face the underlying issues of " not feeling good about yourself "   and anger ( not being understood )

Where does all the hate come from ? Clearly many in church don't know . Many ignoring its causes under the surface
While noone at the ABC dares to mention  the hell created by a generation who encourage self focus
ABC church will do no good .
Like the more sustainable meeting houses,  maybe the new church  needs soem sort of  confession to start off so they can really move on.( as they say)
The projection onto others ( hate ) is going to grow while  ABC doesn't know it, confess it ,and talk to it .
