Trying to be nice

 Many of us oldies grew up with the ABC , It was a tougher and more disciplined beast than it is now .
Our parents taught us correctly that going to church there was better than going to church anywhere else . And so it used to be . When it was humble and disciplined like a sound profession of reporting can be.

Paradoxically most of learnt from Jesus to never trust to the church majority as the history of it trying to please people was what would destroy any good church in a day. 
But times have changed, and the world view the ABC is trying to appeal to has moved on. Instead of  a rugged Christian worldview of the search for truth and the evil inside , the audience is content with the old dark age and sentimental fearfilled views that any evil, should it exist,( not sure are we?  exists in something external. 



The robust idea of reporting all individuals has gone.  Maybe some reporters ( not ABC of course ) are trying to trick us ???
Those of us who know things, know we can't trust the ABC to know very much. The ABC  clearly to this day edit what goes to air to suit agendas and club commentary themes. Like the people, they are actually afraid of knowing too much.  We all have to weigh up how much prejudice is around . We still want it tight,  but every bit has to be right or we switch off -- and we are switching the ABC off  because it is not tight. 

 Not that we would ever expect the ABC staff to know much anyway. It's early reporters like Elizabeth bond , and Randall McDonald would not cut you off but really welcome the diversity, Diversity of opinion has only grown in the real world . Is there not  now the restricted world that only no knows heaps of facts and because it could never cope with sound science ( which science where ) it does not yet know  it needs a back road to come home through.

Pleasing Todays world view means trying to please the wind .The world view has returned to the worship of the superficial. Popular imagery, as McLuhan says, determines the message.   There is no longer any need for origins of evil because according to the new innocents, it doesn't exist .

Worse still the staff fail in science and so we are left with their incompetent speculations on superficial feelings, worship of tech heroes and Compassion and Nature as the gods of choice ( which clearly Nature having compassion is does not) .C&N are in conflict . 
Conflict is inevitable in nature which means the ABC is often useless in helping us  understand and deal with conflict.   

Since there is no expectation of the evil within , everything is perceived good on the outside. 
This pathetically shallow sentimental remnant of the tough nature of the beast that  is what makes us some of the most thin and pathetic groups in the modern  world,

Somehow we think we can change the world - the very atmosphere infact. 

We are rich, live on an island, and fancy ourselves as some of most fair-minded people in the world; . This  feeblemindedness, based as it is on a simple self-righteous feeding game where we the threatened, agree that we are all good blokes, is no doubt what Mr Chamberlain represented when he left his country naked for war in 1945.
