ABC Melbourne Radios in trouble

 Article in the Age show that audiences for 774 in melbourne have dropped by half in the last year . 

There are no doubt many causes but one stands out to me as a chicken that has come home to roost .

The presumption  they have that this  Club produces the most thorough news , and this is, and always was wrong .The truth is hard to find and like our governments they can spend lots of our money making it look like they are out there finding it and funding it  
PRIDE  has come before the FALL. and only truth will se the people free.   
 


It doesn't matter,  as Waugh said in Scoop  ( and other writers of true stories know ) how many reporters and resources you dedicate to finding the truth,  the full story can be where  he reporters don't go .
A lot will change when the 3 ABC channels source material from sites where the ABC angels were never allowed to tread . 
 
Some ABC Melbourne reporters ( eg Feine and Epstein) have been afraid to go west for decades and  those of us who are truly local know when the presumption of awareness ( about being truly Local ) 

You see you can have as many regional ABC offices as you like too,  but if club zero and mother priests  is full of pride the disease will control it .
The full dimension  of how our pride about what we know undermines what we really do know is a matter too big to be dealt with here . Maybe Scott and Waheed will give it a better go , one day ? 

We can all get very theoretical about this and most moderns don't now want to leave the deterministic lockup they set up as home  so the real spiritual nature of the problem is not going to be discussed here.

 When you lose power , as the ABC is over its audience , you get fanatical and are in no mood to accept the change that must eventually come. For the metanoia that threatens deeply the logic and method of work. .
There is little point when the mood is fanatical in playing the old games of pedantry and expecting the leadership to confess to its obvious sin;  rationalizing the threats and self righteousness . 

After all , the Devil has mastered this in all churches of all kinds; this fantasy 

 We appear to come here to confess and recognize our abject rebellion and self righteousness  and the glory of our Creator's work around us,  but really most of us walk out the door without actually doing any of that .We may even think of ourselves as change agents  but have never changed ourselves.  


So let me give you just one very practical example of overreach by ABC melbourne .

ABC 774 try to do too much. Like emergency broadcasting . They started this after we ( #OCRFM in 1991) started doing it. We wereones with the fires  but they, like all commercials were copying us . ; but because they couldn't do it as well  their  lie ( "its  efficient" ) and their power games were not exposed . It suits the powerful ad the city to assume they know things . .

ABC 774 started calling themselves LOCAL when we started EB , when we had all the situation people( 20 or so )and we still are truly local and competing against a local commercial station in a listening area of 40000 people - the ABC are not THERE on ground - infact they are now afraid ( Mr Feine and Mr Epstein ) to go farther west than Torquay.

Sorry if you don't accept it, but since May 2022 , the city have decided to allow Bandt to run the country :( country peopl lost their vote years ago) 
 So why aren't thinking people  troubled enough about the total unfairness and threat to sound planning of our children's competence , faith in democracy and scientific planning ability.?   All too hard until you find the essentail clue for our children asi have restated in RSW , accept regional representation that is fair , not Gough Whitlams simple maths , which is not fair .  

Our community radio station, in the highest bushfire zone of all in Vic , used to switch off all other programs and run dedicated loops of up to date local fire news broadcasts through the entire time of the NE SW crisis bush fire period. We locals actually know how to predict and deal with real threats ( like flood fire,drought landslides )not just speculate wildly about them.

We never received a cent to do that work , and still don't . The Lorne fire fronts in 1983 lasted less than a day and biggest impacts are over hours, not days .

The thing thinking people need to recognise is that when we start losing our supposed influence , we risk becoming fanatical - pretending we do know things we don't - and that's a real turnoff ) This is what is happening to all trad media because the internet and our own connections grow the competence these mediums lack .

A crisis tends to show up the agencies weakness of judgment but noone else gets to employ so many adults who have never grown up and got some experience let alone confess to cutting people off . Jon Feine and Tony Jones are examples of the immature… 

No one else in our society gets to gaslight people so easily .

 He's the hypocrisy about church time in ABC church. A subtle form of gaslighting 
 Like all churches ABC church has ways of excommunicating attempted communicants . 
The priest presenting says to  the  person on line........ and in the frame ? 
Are you angry? 
" You, the bad listener  are angry ( therefore are sinning according to that church ) SO , we will switch you off . we will do it nicely of course. we are very nice here at the ABC .Gaslighting incorporated 

 ABC  runs like a church even though it would fight to the death  to say its not religious . Its largely trying to bring in the kingdom of the secular determinist which like all good priests do,it  preaches this  simple doctrine .
 God is dead and therefore you are your own judge , Don't worry what others think . Do what you feel like and get what you feel like and because you have all these drivers to survive , push to get what nature deserves you to have , More food sex, travel and guess what - you don't have to go to church every week  , let alone confess anything  . What is there to confess??? 
( only those we target from monday to friday have to confess anything - polys and big business etc ) 

We need the ABC to retain some credibility - It must deal with its cynics

Sack its old cynics who have occupied production seats for far longer than is ever justified .
Get those old faces and their friends OFF and put on people who know stuff . Not just academia and the  shell shocked. 

Noone in any other broadcasting service gets to control so much subject matter without the qualifications and experience to do so and for so long .
How come producers like Doogue and the Cassidies still have so much influence over so many years .
Fine ,they have a few followers , BUT they have had their chance to tell us what little they know, in the context of the little they have learnt about who knows what . academia ? 
We  are not fooled by new presenters when they are half puppets . 
No broad casting service is more hypocritical talking about their lead on the  truth and big ideas Most Australians know the ABCTV  used to be trusted by thinking people - now thinking people switch it off .   

ABCscience , Education and Big small ideas has been underwhelmingly predictable with no recognition of the reasons why Australia has been in a dumbing down mood for decades. 
David Stretton tries to tell you that ABC drama producers are crap and that Ballantyne has no backbone to cut to the chase, let alone that dependant club leader  - the very much asleep Mr Adams .

The dumbing down of our universities.

Sadly, i have worked in the public service  where the added risk is that polys will cultivate their very own ignorance in the form of their appointments; 
I have been at high level meetings where uni chiefs take the money ( cynically ) and run . Independence has been lost .

The lack of independence and big picture  is particularly true in my area of risk management where wannabes get points  for manufacturing worry and justifying their meddling money wastage with an abundance of no caution with our money .All parties keep mum on environment because they know zilch about how it works . 

Too many Unis are NOW competing for the PC with too many smart A polys and media looking for ' results".

Don't expect the media to know. They often worship academia and worse;  the many blind academics in "science areas" ( everyone thinks they are doing science when they are not) whose heads have been looking down a microscope or just processing a huge pile of mere facts all their lives.

Overly comfortable clubs of good intention

 Sammy J is on the money , but will he survive to keep the truth alive ?. 
Our forefathers knew that the greatest evil is done in the name of the best intention. But we don't .We are so clever - weve evolved . Like Dr Andrews and his clones, some  think their and our actions can exterminate the evil thing. 

 Burke might have added"AND workshopped solutions", If he lived in our day, when all levels of government are covered in the white of right intention  and are therefore untouchable , the clause "AND workshoping solutions"explain a lot .  . The incumbents believe the workshoping of ideas in church brings glory and honor . That monster evil- where is it ?  the truth is that its  in a pack- pity they haven't thought to study how to unpack a pack of lies   ,Too many of the incumbents stopped studying and thinking years ago . They rely on feelings and never touch the red hot risk   of human heart deception in their thinking. 

Where is evil now so many of us concentrate on its eradication? . we the most righteous are paid to be good,  so we are good-- naturally  . The ratbags out there need to be paid to be good  ?   .
The only church we want is the one that starts with confession , .

What happens is that unlike people in the real world they wont have to pay and they will just take a budget to try something new. Like the kids that some of them are, they use the new to  grab attention  The slack parents in the audience don't notice the wasted time and effort    , The ABC can be very entertaining if children's and meddlers antics amuse you
We are watching the destruction of democracy and of course smart stupid people like Phillip Adams know its personal ...but not them , Adams  is just a common projector of ad hominem- evil  is down to evil persons and institutions
Pity his  logic for the need for  public service no longer works . as Dostoevsky said - if there is God, there is no other party .

Adams  would  do better if he studied what keeps him and other noisemakers POPULAR... and it aint all praiseworthy. .

What to do with our Awefully Serious ABC

What do you do with any overly religious group in Western Culture  - you offer them freedom .You can tell them to lighten up , but such groups have to ditch their fears ( inc their weight of cynicism) 
The producers at ABCTV have been gourging up our taxes trying to be more funny ( Abc2/3 ) but its not working . I am not going to tell you here why because the whole hovel of TV production in the ABC needs to rethink elements of its culture . We are switching off .
 A return to real respect for the culture ( not always )we came from would clearly save aussies from the confusion and confounding free try at everything new thats killing TV; A return by our ABC  may help save us from the lostness of moral ( whats light /whats dark)  disease that is right across the media.more reporters? only if we get more reports.  Best practice is not to write the story but let someone else tell the story  ( one 2 one Ahndo ,Back roads Aus story)

Much of ABCTV has no idea of how to enjoy the truth about the human condition without offering some cynical  view of others and a weighty dumping of new theories and mixes of philosophy that simply don't work . And it not just Christians who are saying this .

1. Brendan O Neil  points to the cul de sac of misanthropy for example in which many reactionaries now find themselves . 
2. David Christian too reminds us that various naturalistic fallacies produce little but confusion
3.   JB Peterson reminds us that the philosophical frame of religion is not poison but the most powerful  force for good and evil . If you are a post modern reactionary who doesn't believe in evil you and your children may be lost in more darkness than you think so much for talking "shining light on things "       
   The overoptimistic children of baby booming era may have aged comfortably in the hallowed halls of comfort castle  but if cynicism is all they are offering they will lose themselves and their audience -- and are  They see no way forward-- we can tell because they keep doing things and speaking about the same old issues ( big whatever, conspiracy amongst conservatives just for eg ) Boring and predictable .

Boring and predictable  774 Melbourne 25th June 2019   Nothing better symbolizes the overly serious religious frame of presenters here than the overly  serious way they field calls and come at issues . The snide petty and pedantic bush lawyers set the sail for the morning to nick pick the previous nights Q and A points of their interest . Boring and predictable self righteousness on show 
   How much more fun and unpredictable it was to listen to 3AW  where callers were honoured to tell their stories . U try to get through 774 panel when they are on a roll . watch the rollout and the wash up 000many who once listened NOW  just switch off 
2. Fake news 
   ABCTV news Monday night 24 June 2019 The news was made out to include millions of threatened species when it was about 2 pretty parrots and possums well known to those who have to/used to listen to the worry warriors..   Piss off same old stories and report new or different  
3. Misplaced concreteness leading to unecessary confounding The Drum 25 June 2019 ( Ellen Fanning ) Program shows how unreliable chosen panel members and discussion equity can be. ACOSS spokeswoman  freely moves to every other issue of note  leaving us with the normal impression of a stacked panel so typical of ABCTV programs like Q and A . Another hour of my life wasted wandering through the same old.   Weighted is the word
    Sure it looks OK to doubt on the surface , when you fact check (how many time mentioned )it The businesswoman for eg  i think was not an adequate rep moving around too much on the subjects   Restraint in commentary and the overly controlling arm waving  presenter leaves us with confusion ; her childish attempts to find cause and effect typical of the sub science and sus get nowhere style of reporting;
   No unexpected confronting facts can come from such panels ; panels will never be perfectly balanced but the drum is one hour  that could really improve the debate not dumb it down ;; Parliament is more fun and less predictable .
   We were left with trite noise and speculation about the human condition that i am sure frightened the only eco person on the panel .Even Adam fell for the furphy of the laughable money motivated charity drivers raised - one day we get Marxism , the next we get the glory of capitalism in its most obscene form . Good try i suppose but Ellen must seek to let panel go.
   Adam weighed up the need to "just do it"  in end but the audience by Fanning were left with the normal  confounding when conservative matters raised . The pathetic excuse of " we need more information " before we act shows how fears that characterize the inert inactive and incompetent left - Too many  think they have aright to control the government because THEY are not sure.  A lack of respect for the job and people in power MUST be addressed by staff .
4. ABC management should clearly instruct chairpersons  to argue for the peoples' choice even if they don't like it . Its childish nonsense and disrespectful to do otherwise , weed out this  disease .  No doubt the Greens and the cross bench will continue to play their disrespectful games -- another 3 yrs of pain  .

The wash up with the completely washed out

 The confident Jon Feine proclaims he will ,whatever happens tomorrow, run a program on Sunday 19th May 2019 to do "the wash up" . Little does he and Barry Cassidy  realize  that they are the ones who are washed up and out because they are both  on the wrong side of history and truth.

1. Corangamite will be retained by the conservatives ( see some reasons here) Victoria's most marginal seat .
2. Wash up is a cynical term . A symbol of the hole Faine finds himself in )  If either of those simpletons  were to do anything for the country they haven't matured  and would have recognized their lead in that subject is one reason so many of our children do not vote.  ( I was on campaign trial to encourage young people to vote and and get the a decent environment ,
   The legacy of the ABc is cynicism which wouldn't be so bad ( if it was just that -quite essential ) if it wasn't linked with clear failure to report conservatives and people who seek to represent a non progressive view - their judgement ( Progressives are stuck with the simple doctrine that conservatives  are backward and dinosaur like )
   
   ADAPTING  OR COMPROMISING
   
   Anyone watch just Tanya and Richard arguing the point about whose going to change the world on Qand A would be diching both children and their parties  . The ABC failed to see what its audience saw - two kids.
3. Most importantly the Conservatives focused on getting the kids out the Senate , The big problem ( the electorate knows it )  the simple worshipers at the ABC failed to address ( whose doing it ? ) Couldn't be those conservatives " they are so backward they can easily be ignored
   
   THE REAL ADAPTERS
   No despite church teaching , some conservatives know how and when to adapt - unlike the pedant priests at the ABC they know when tio change the name of an institution to presrev it form the morildund 
   
   
4. TAKE The ABC's shallow taunt that the Nationals are corrupt, It ignores the wisdom of the mature than no sensible person trusts parties ( we just reject the ones we trust least ) The conservatives are ahead  of the limpet like progressives in that they believe in adaption .
   Labor has no such idea ---it stupidly and incomprehensibly claims it will survive by compromise - The Labor advocates ( bill tanya and keanall)
   If the party does survive it wil still be just one big shallow empty shell called Labor
   
   You might not like Cori but anyone who starts a new party ( without a fortune  and an ego as big as a one - the two leading "friends"  of the majors )
   
5. Conservatives take the problems of Senate seriously - noone else seems to.

   Despite protestations neither Feine nor Epstein would come to the deep south ( say Colac) where they would learn that mere words and good intentions  are not enough to swing hearts in any highly productive creative community . Barrys wife  Heather has done a great job to hel p ( as Landline does ) the city understand a bit about the country but like any program that claims to call itself local,  it and most ABC rural political reporting been doing a shocking job for decades 
   WAY FORWARD ?
   Heal thy selves and some for soem absolution -- then you might desreve the cheques each week . 

DIMWITS and their doctrines

When the children are in charge,  you get this

Noisy arrogant irrational and more than a little hypocritical.

The high priests of the new churches of DIMWITS ( Doing It My Way Is Truth Societies ) church cannot challenge errors in thinking and excuses made for bad behavior . 

The high priests of such places are leaders in name only - they aren't parenting and mentoring well  They can't say NO and they even comply with the shallow Rhetoric of first thought Suffices f( RIFTS  in creating laws that crucify their ability to influence the children; make them think more deeply.  They make laws in the paradoxical name of discrimination ( can be a good or a bad thing - its use therefore suits those who want confusion    
DIMWITS,  by applying their very own doctrine of RIFTS don't allow  ANYONE in theirs or any other  household in the country ( big task) to make the error prone feel guilty .

For God's sake -it may make some pathetic,  lazy , arrogant and blind recalcitrant persons in your midst  change their ways and their pathetic self justifying logic.

Don't mention the War !

Before anyone gets mad at me, for mentioning the ammo used in the two wars below ;  lets try and find a reason why we are all a bit mad at the moment . Our big thinkers call it ED and you can read more about it here .

That out of the road,  let me tackle the ineffective and confused angst over why

1 Parents  don't want to send their kids to public schools.

The reason many , many christians and non believers choose, and have been choosing,  for decades to NOT choose PUBLIC schools is because the "beyond secular' boundary 
is so important . We don't want the public system to be preaching to our kids -- The loss of trust is widespread and due to the consequences of post modernism .

It seems to me that the old standard for SECULAR protected ( in a reasonably effective way( not complete !) anyone who had a sexual or religious preference from being judged ( If not in the school ground , at least in the classroom!) 

The old standard did this by 1. Sitting in silence on the subject 2. Teacher saying all class members are entitled to their choice without my judgement or 3 Just mentioning categories - not making a value assessment .



I think Christians are just as supportive of not judging sexual  and religious preferences in the children, but the idea that church schools can't choose their own teachers is a load of unreasonable hypocritical rubbish ,


Noone is forcing anyone to teach or go to a church school. 

So , some say, the governmnet funds religious schools  - Religious people pay taxes.

2  Why we don't trust the ABC.

When the women are not happy

What is it with the girlfriends groups at the ABC that they have to go on and on about  men.
The offended ones  are not going to win any points because more and more thinking people can see past the patronising stereotype that even the PM puts on us   '' we can do better ". The royal we is a careless pee.

If the women are going to take on the giant job of speaking  for all women make sure you do speak for all women .

 Like many men,  women are using genetics to justify their sexism and they simply shouldn't. Its( whatever it is this week)  no more in their DNA  (XX or XY) even though Y deprived like to say so - so many use the damning determinism of their age  to justify their griping ; such sadness  and associated madness is predetermined.
 Whatever the content,  few men are listening because of all the grizzling and griping underneath .  We men ( most of us) can see it; they are being sexist about the question of abuse, even if theXX's can't.
Its also another example of the overplaying of some noisy group that is oh so annoying at the ABC - we are switching off more and more
That said , women are abused more and more - but as their grandmothers might tell them - ask yourself what you did before you go hunting the devil. Whats really itching you ?

My mother would be offended at Annabelles portrait of her hard doneby sex in "guess whose coming to dinner _ year by year .
As a very successful career woman she was happy to give up her stimulating career to become a full time mum . With her girlfriends,  she enjoyed all sorts of  creative and diverse manufacturing ( not the drudgery of most work places)  She,  like so many of her growing group of new best friends  started and ran community groups and activities - not ONE mentioned in the decade of dinners  program . 


Thought more than once that the family on show were also eating or regurgitating words that weren't really their own. - reinforcing some fixed hard done by womans stereotype. wouldn't it be great to have met grandma !!!! I had visions of Margeret Mead being taken in by teenagers telling her what she wanted to hear . Innnocent - the children or the adults . Peterson on Cain and Abel?

So many liberated women of a n earlier age  celebrated the choice to be household and group  leaders and the release from drudgery  that technology like clothes washers provided.   The program is a bit of fun , but if the film producers at ABC were truly competitive and running in the dirt  they wouldn't be wasting our money on soap cleaned up for PC - even Mystery Road and so many Y deprived lawyers  and well dressed detectives don't cut deep enough for those of who live on the edge. Where in Mystery road is the edgy rejection of "poor me" driven problems ?????



My mother knew there was no relief  for her poor husband whose drudgery was in not being paid to provide food for his country ( animals and fruit)  I wish the ABC would realize it has a predjudiced view of history before our children do.

If the women are going to take on the giant job of speaking  for all women,  make sure you do speak for all women .
We can all complain - just stop and listen . Noone is listening.

The search for deeper things

While I liked Sarah Ferguson's closer engagement with people in the domestic violence series, I struggle with her questions. Dumb sub scientific "why" questions especially .We used to pay ABC to report - not run scientific investigations . Now they think they can solve problems or even understand them .Where's the respect at the ABC for those who do that properly  in the truly complex matters of healthcare ?
Filling their programs with their favorite words ideas and questions is one thing,  but not seeking much advice is the tragedy in most of this; the deeper things ( below)are not uncovered.
In a paradox of heavenly proportions they talk of " shining the light " on things . Too Christian to be believed from them . Maybe they are confused about what deception looks like ?

Nowhere does this strange  habit of cynical journo asking dumb question  become an obvious downer  to us in the audience  than when the person being asked the question has something to hide or is stuck in celebrating my ideas mode .
While the latter is increasingly common,  it is  not helped by self select but stacked panels on  everything from QandA to TheDrum .
Dumb questions are OK but they should come from the audience - they don't. QandA 's staged question setup was never so obvious as when Malcolm Turnbull was on recently.
Anyone would think Malcolm  was a christian ; deserving the tearing apart treatment you get in Emperor Jones Colosseum
Everyone has something to hide ; Our ignorance our prejudice . That's why the lack of real independent observers on ABC is so annoying ,.     We all know the technique - have a least one lone outsider that fulfills our obligation even if it provides just a convenient beating up, moving on  target should they get to speak for too long . The ABC has a really bad habit of wasting our time, They do it with titillating and splash statistics. Edgy  but with no go boundaries.No dumb questions from the audience makes the above programs amongst the most pretentious  on TV.
Everyone should be learning while  at the ABC,  but many are not .
What really annoys me is that behind and under the shallow response to domestic violence epidemic we get refusal to talk and face the underlying issues of " not feeling good about yourself "   and anger ( not being understood )

Where does all the hate come from ? Clearly many in church don't know . Many ignoring its causes under the surface
While noone at the ABC dares to mention  the hell created by a generation who encourage self focus
ABC church will do no good .
Like the more sustainable meeting houses,  maybe the new church  needs soem sort of  confession to start off so they can really move on.( as they say)
The projection onto others ( hate ) is going to grow while  ABC doesn't know it, confess it ,and talk to it .

Moving on or just going around in circles

ABCTV,  in particular has a problem - its cultivated a culture that is quite inadequate to deal with  the age of science - the media have very few  practicing scientists and worse- they don't expose the people to them enough. QandA classically is stacked with polys and wannabes .An inexperienced isolated arts graduate culture dominating intellectual  and  political life in Australia ?

What I hope maybe helpful now is to expand on the way the above named disease has been cultivated in places like the ABC and other lefty homes for safe injection . Tragic misplaced cynicism poured over  our once clever, more competent and confident countries young people.

Like many who fail to practice either sound science  or philosophy ( ever learning but never coming to a gnosis of the truth)  they hope a generalization or correlation will carry the audience  forward ( Tony Jones eternal myth of a heaven by "moving on" )You ask the question "why" or "why not" without a clue that if you don't wait or listen long enough you will never know .
What do you learn on the ABC?

What help is all their attention to truth by majority- demolition of ideas by class history ? Class warfare? They use words "pattern "and "puppet","dinosaur"  and "cockroach "for condemn all those in a class  who hide behind old things
 Generalizations are  fine in their place ; they are useful generalization words about human behavior and us sheep .
But we know if we want to keep the door open ( true democracy and freedom of speech) we try to bring others around to confront a person to their particular face /issue . Cultural crap is such an unholy mess that only the gods could  sort it out IMO .we do it to each other at our own peril . 

To accuse an Image deo of tribal sin  is and always risks your offending  against the 8th commandment , We hope for better in each other and our increasingly out of control media .

It seems to me that , like them , many at the ABC  are going around in circles and just don't  see it .

The sacking of Red Symonds

In a paradox of profound proportions the high priests of ABC  have sacked the only person who is really funny in there .
 Being the pathetic religious pedants that they are,  they think an injection of " comedy ' will give the ABC what it lacks . Drug induced highs is what they are hooked on -- They are nor honest and open enough to realize we can't join them because the government don't pay us to be cynical unprofessional speculators - and they dare to talk of Red " not doing his research"

We haven't learnt anything from the decades of Jon Feine and all his research and he appears to have not learnt anything either. Feines' the one they should sack .
No injection will prevent our rejection of their being far too serious about their own  religion ;  the white cloak over the cynicism  ; the inbuilt anti- authoritarianism ; the dumb baseless determinism as their hope for the future; their misplaced idea of how science works and mots of all their failure to acknowledge its  limitations .

after all at ABC there is no need for values because we are all good ( don't need to have this discussion ) , and
All your values are as good as my values , Anyone who talks too much about their values is intolerant That's that other group over there an boy are they bad .
Nervous laughter , Hypocritical laughter or just noise to cover a blank space .

True independent journalism - or a bunch of predictable religious reactionaries

If there was one chorus the ABC hum it would be the above one TIJ. They have convinced themselves that they are fair and open . Yet the evidence from the many who switch them off regularly is that their same old same old is the result of religion in denial -- failure to recognise that they bring their own bias to reporting and who to report .
Only if reporters did little but put a microphone in random faces we would get more independent journalism .
We also don't get independent reporting when the news feed is fulla commentary,  speculation ,same old commentators and self appointed adjudicators like Tony Jones who are controlling discussions by always moving them on.
So what would be fair characterization of OUR ABC?

War with straws

Nothing shows the  nakedness of many of the reactionaries at abcchurch than the weak targets of its troops. The reactionary young men who started Rage, Wars on everything,  are still obedient to their job descriptions  --but their programs  say nothing ,They use a lot of explosives and its colorful but its really just .......mad as hell. Even just overconfidence in identifying the enemy will kill troops when the warfare is  gorilla warfare
 Oh yes they fill our screens with images of things to fight against,   but really most of abc audience don't need the suck eggs of Checkout and Wars on waste . we don't need more navel gazing  drivel in courts to remind us that the rationalists are limited to law in their ineffective tyrannical war to change the world.   Productivity is important - it breeds optimism , touting at windmills breeds cynicism.
The schoolmasters at ABC should retire before they spend more of our money on making the gloves under the club look good . Besides some of us go,  but we don't believe .  Besides,  as is said below , children aren't following ABC schoolmasters either- and when they do the evidence,  for you dumb reactionary fact checkers , is that it just breeds cynicism.My facts VS your facts How very childish and dull esp -------when ABC has the last word .  .
One of the biggest problem with ABCchurch is that when it gets  too heavenly minded,  its of little earthly use.Good on them for trying but good intention is never enough when it comes to evil .

ABCchurch  cultivates a hiding place for cynics who don't have to grow up and be real .Who instead of reporting people from the real world , increasingly do the commentating (eg  The Drum,  Feine Qand A, Sure the desire for truth can be there , but I am saying the commitment is often  not . Takes 30 years to train a good scientist .Yet chairpersons ask " Who ask how and why"  questions without any hope of digging any deeper than the playground or colosseum or some other PC safe haven in which they operate. Sound science takes time to work through so just making it sexy is not enough .

Time the ABC had a science directorate outside it , or at least just a few practical scientists within its ranks  Go on tell me who they are . The disease of non scientists in the ABC telling us scientists what we think has reached epidemic proportions in ABCTV at least.



The classic neglect of Children and young people at the ABC 
Our children are not as placid or stupid enough as to think OUR version of rage is reactionary enough , The church crowd  wouldn't know what young people are thinking , They are so bust talking ( cause they are loosing the battle) to their own old  crowd on things like Book club they wouldn't notice their own  PC.The degree to which reactionary empitiess just breeds woosiness, niceness and cynicism. The immature adults in the congregation seem to show a blind eye to their children who have learnt to hate them because they woosed out in modern reactionary selfie  pulldowns ( everyone is wrong except me ) like " please like me" .

Where in the world are the reports form Children on the ABC . so non pC  Something that really says what a sin is . That challenges them ---not panders to them . See how they struggle not to laugh when " values ' are mentioned . Its our job to make everyone laugh at ideas of " whats valuable" . Without a vision of sin,  its always other bloke who has the problem . Maybe there is no sunday school at church because the kids have seen through their parents ? If its not that it would be impossible not to get the message- pure cynicism is the go .

If only a little of the ABC budget was given to to people on "you can't say that "or community TV to produce something DIFFERENT from the boringly predictable cynical preoccupations of ABC1  

A coupe for common sense

Nothing could have prepared Tony Jones and his tight team of religious pedants from the shock of an  unexpected few words from the royal family of Hamlet territory. What do you do when someone says something heretical in church .The court as usual out of touch with the leadership.
Helle Thorning Schmidt believed in CC, so "she must be alright" to provide the perfect balance they seek on Q and A---they thought.
 Helle was apparently  perfect for that perfect balance that they strive for at this worship service on Mondays --or so they thought . Pity about the child who is unaware of the parade -the emperor wearing no clothes .
Nothing could have prepared the control group from her stepping into the crowd and being called called foul over her short statements about the very nature of Democracy ( as she herself rightly put it !!!) .
 "Of course you can insult someone ", she said to the amazement of the PC crowd .The church was rocking with unspoken calls of "heresy" .Court in session.
She must have wondered what has happened to this wonderful place of free spirits,  where they now sit on people who express them .
 For a stunned moment, the penguin in charge found it difficult to move on .His" moving on" move  normally quite effective in keeping his program and sermon series on track .

God bless them;  They took a risk last night in having Pail Kelly and Josh,  but little did they think that this honest visitor from outside would do what visitors do - tell the truth ,
They will have to make sure next time the balance is right - The team do know that they can't have more than one scientist or expert on the panel;( doctrines must be clearly put) to have more than one expert islike weighting the game in a gambling fashion -- does anyone remember how the QandA panel treated Professor Bob Carter?
Clearly the team didn't see that the other panel guests would be so wishy washy over the deep and powerful issue of words and didn't see like those guests  how the tyrannical try to rule with them --it simply didn't occur to them .This is a comfortable place to sit late at night after all .
Helle was not briefed to NOT play the political game of the moment; pretend we believe that Section 18 is OK because it was the rights ( or is it liberal lefts ) decision to try an reform it . The reactionaries will pathetically and predictably say that the word insult and offend  MUST stay.

Pity they haven't read Romans 11 :8 for a while, where the author points out just a few problems with what we see and what we don't see and why .Why we have trial by jury and why we are NOT in the West clones of his old crowd --the pharisees.
Seeing a comment as insulting doesn't make it so, but the ABC and the Senate would make it so . Innocent people will NOW continue to go to court , even in houses, schools  cafes and in the street because the Hollow men in the Senate like Hinch just want to go home : when a clear winning argument is not obvious; when its all too hard and you can't please the people on your side-- or anyone in particular
Never was the left in such a bind, on the right,  than when they can only advocate doing nothing .
Never are the reactionaries ( well dome Malcolm Turnbull for easing them out of the cracks ) so evidently in a state of traumatic inertia and self imposed paralysis than when they realize they have nowhere to go (react to )but to go back and vote with the common sense of reform .

 The high priests strive to get it right "You  got to fact check these things they say " - fact being a very good cover for lack of Quality and a pedant preoccupation with quantity - Hegel and history would be aghast at the teams simple doctrines. THE ABC team are so short of real scientists they miss Hegels Whiteheads and Russell's point about the nature of scientific verification and how to get things CLEAR .

Culturing Obnoxiuos Women

Leading women of Australia don't quite see their own ridiculous stance on the effect of rebellion and self centredness on our communities and theirs in particular :You may feel like being like the childish adults on Absolutely Fabulous,  but you are wrong to not resist it; deeply and effectively.

It took Lumley and Saunders ( Lateline tonight) to remind the reactionary women's club at the ABC that nothing good can come from enjoying their indulgence and their well hidden love of acting like children and scratching, cursing and self centered cruelty that is so often there somewhere. .
Don't think many of the worshipers would realize that,  to think like that was to pull yourself and your family down
 .The ABC boys are allowed to do snide and innuendo  with their tired old formula of wars on everything . Are the women allowed to do same ? Maybe they don't care if they end up like the boys- underneath ?
Why do we have to put up with the same same old tearing cynicism and innuendo,yes we are switching you all off because you are off !  Leading cynical sectors of ABC are running on plain hypocrisy and empty reactionary rebellion to any structure ---apart from their own. .How many grownups are there in there?


Joanna was at pains to point out that the "poor us sexism" that women on Emily's list play up to , is driving their own and their daughters into a go nowhere unreality.  There is nothing there!

My bet is that noone in the pews is teaching their girls self control . One can only wonder, not how absolute fabulous are their homes , but how empty, vacuous and unhappy .Cruelty isn't part of the show ,only because the AF daughter has more sense than to follow her mothers lead . Are all the sycophants to AF as wise as the actors ?

Judging faith on its ground effectiveness

Could be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous . The merchants of change in theory want us suddenly to believe they are interested in the sustainable. Jennifer Byrne on the book club talking on books that changed the world .



The only way  a progressive  can do this in the West with the bible and its grand literary and legal history standing in the decades of centuries is to claim , as they did on Book Club  that pre biblical history had the idea before any Hebrew or Christian .   More than a hint of denial there and only a catchphrase or token word like "the Iliad " to back it up ,
So,  quite predictably we have the sycophants on her  program dribbling out the doctrine using the Iliad aas the key -  Just what we learnt from history is of course not an issue for a Jew or a Christian , We learn nothing from history , We are far more realistic and less prone to disappointment . Clearly as other members show the only alternative story of significance has to be a dystopian vision ( hunger games a) . The convenient dystopic vision at ABC of environment as disaster area is now a littel dated. ABC priests  may believe dystopia talk can work  cause their paid , whether it does or not , but young people will not -- Thank God  
ABC breeds dystopian depression by preaching no other gospel  


 Faith in evolution ( so much part of this setup and stitch up program )doesn't work and its insertion into what is supposed to be a program about outsiders ideas becomes,  as in any church a sermon on why the chosen authors agree with us .  

So the biggest problem for this new faith in automatic progress and if you like " improving on Christianity crap " is that we need post christian ( more modern) authors to demonstrate this effect .

The constant faddishness in modern literature dissolves any credibility Jennifer Byrne tries to give to her assertion on THE BOOK CLUB . She is not helped by her guest who talks about The Hunger Games , All the presenters on the program don't realise that by asserting a progression,  they should have on the  ABC given the two millenniums of christina thinking far more independent and focused ( cf general)  oxygen than they have for decades  ,Enthusiasm for change characterises their attitude and the reason why the glass is for them ---still half empty ( and obnoxious to young people)  .

We have told our young people that its a dog eat dog world - now they believe it and any reading of The hunger games that makes it nice is pure fiction - like their ambition to improve on a workable theory of human nature that the bible has taught consistently for centuries .

there are of course modern books that have changed the world but the reality is most people in modern times have never listened to build .
"The origin of the species"  is valuable because it established the fact about natural selections role in adaption. It was one o those realities that deeply challenged not so much the authority of the Bible but the long held interpretation of it , You need something deeper than one chapter and its interpretation  to ignore the Genesis story. The bigger question is do we still accept original sin as the framework for understanding the human condition - a best approximation ; or do we have another? .

Maybe Jennifer Byrne will have some one on next week to show us how she at least has moved on her understanding . Scott Peck Rollo May , Ronald Conway  If she is right about natural progress there MUST be somebody whose ideas TRUMP those of a thousand years or so

Whatever happens  Jennifer Byrne will have to be careful because the bible is clearly progress according to her theory - maybe she can identify how specifically we have moved on  from it? - errors paradigms

As Herbert Spencer might admit if he were alive today " I invented evolution as the answer to everything" .but I know even Darwin,  who work is tight  on this  would never let anyone let the idealism get out of hand --- Evolution and adaption happens , its not a universal principle of control in nature. Unless of course , you are stuck with your DNA as the final word in your lif.

ABC 's moral dilemmas too small and predictable

One of the clear consequences of ABC cloistering its worship around clever government is that the government is not so clever . You have to worship something and the object of their worship is thick.

The ultimate consequence of their decades long faith that government (and its ally -public opinion care) is that the volunteers and onlookers may stop caring as well .   We pay them to care so let them get on with it  - these institutions  simply do not  care very well without constant reform from the ground up . These institutes in cares name will dissolve out the care if they are run purely on material grounds. s  .

Give us a break from G Doogue and  Tony Jones  whose predictable structure and patronising ignorance limits  the discussion possible.
They have had their chance to lead - give someone else a go!!!!!!!
 The only moral decision  Doogue thinks is out there  is 'assylum '. What about the rebellion  of young people and the attractiveness of islam in the moral vacuousness they have created over the last 20 years  ?

Mark Scott's legacy may well be to see the ABC's reserve of credibility seriously eroded when its failure to fact check all the half truths it has portrayed as proofs of sea level rise over a decade finally addressed by scientists .(eg  Kurabati )
The ABC does a really poor job of representing science  in spite of its high advocacy.   The reasons are documented elsewhere and by science prophets from the past.   It would be amazing if the ABC reverse themselves out of the cul de sac by themselves , but as our forebears taught us - better to confess than go on in denial .

Like the attempt to shore up the shoreline on rising sea levels , the tide will turn and they will have, for the sake of history , to be identified as playing  a role for a whole decade in muddying the waters .
If they can't get these political and scientifically sensitive matters right what other things should we trust them about ?
Its especially dangerous for our public broadcaster because the game of giving each side a fair go is often met ( in a statistical sense ) but not when the controversy runs deeper and the conservation needs to be deeper ( qualitative and speculative ) The idea of proving things work should not be left up to the media and political class. ABC needs to employ and publish work from practicing professional scientists.
. The ABC have yet to realise that it would be innovative and productive to link to sites which at least put another point of view . All Talk back hosts religiously guard their sense of control by not allowing sensible callers to converse with each other - which would mean the conversation  would really move on .  ABC are no better than commercials at the moment in  not doing this .  I no longer listen partly because of this monotony and predictableness. So much for festivals of dangerous ideas ,
